Okay so... I haven't been updating lately, Sorry about that. I've been pretty busy but not with anything exciting. I started packing early so I could figure out how much I couldn't fit in my suitcase and if i needed to mail some things home. I do.
I bought a 200yen box and fit about 20lbs of stuff in it. It's going to cost me around $90-ish to air-mail it by Japan post. It is cheaper to ship it, but that takes a month and I'm sending gifts that i want to be there before Christmas. ...sigh
I have two rather large suitcases so I've been trying to figure out how I was going to get them from katahoko to KIX. I can get there easily by train. I did so earlier this year when escorting Becky to KIX. But this time I'd be alone and I see no way of easily getting my luggage from train to train to train. Let alone crowded trains... So I've decided to reserve a seat on a limousine bus that leaves from Hirakata station and goes to KIX. You have to do so over the phone in Japanese so I'm getting an RA to call for me. I'm going to take a taxi to Hirakata station and walk from there possibly. It's pretty near. It'll cost me around 1500yen. I have to get an RA to arrange for the taxi over the phone as well.
I have already closed my Japanese bank account. They offer three different days you can attend sessions where the bank representatives walk you through the process.
I wanted to keep my bike, but it's too expensive to ship it home.... nearly three times the price I originally paid for it. So I'm left with the option of selling my bike to the shop, to another student, or recycling it. Probably selling it to the shop.
This upcoming week is exam week. I'm dreading it and excited about it at the same time. I hate huge tests, but I like more free time after classes. I want to go home, but I don't want to leave Japan. Conflicting paradoxes. I've discovered so many here...
Can't believe it...
10 days...
